Kaitlyn and Alex

Kaitlyn and Alex are a fabulous couple with ties to Central PA, Pittsburgh, and their current home in Brooklyn, New York. Their wedding style can be summed up as “vintage-burlap,” with pretty soft pinks and a neutral pallette. Alex and his groomsmen donned grey suits – a great alternative to traditional black, especially for an outdoor July wedding. The girls got ready in the beautiful guest rooms of the stone mansion and wore soft pink chiffon dresses. When it came to Kaitlyn’s bouquet, we chose to incorporate lots of blush pinks alongside more nontraditional accents – scabiosa pods and fern fronds, which matched Alex’s boutonniere. Guests kept cool with iced tea, lemonade and bottled water and hand-made program fans before and during the ceremony. At the end of the ceremony, Alex’s father gave the groom a glass to stomp, and the newlyweds were showered with rose petals as guests shouted “Mazel Tov!”

Cocktail hour at the timeless stone gazebo boasted a full bar, fruit and cheese, artichoke dip, buttered crab cakes and bacon wrapped dates with almonds. Guests sipped and chatted as Smooth Kentucky provided the perfect background music. Guests were ushered to the main tent for a seated dinner.

“We could not have had more
of a dream wedding...”

and The Peter Allen House and C&J Catering played a crucial part in that happening. From our very first meeting I knew right away that they were going to be the perfect partners. They brought new, exciting ideas to the table and also did everything they could to make my ideas a reality.  Frank and Barbara at The Peter Allen House were very accommodating, the venue was stunning and we could not have asked for a better day!  Thanks so much to the staff at the Peter Allen House and C&J Catering for absolute perfection!
